COMMUNITY. Following a fire that completely destroyed a residence on rue du Cardinal on Wednesday night, the community is mobilizing and wants to help the family. A fundraising campaign Geducated was launched to raise $25,000.

It was organizer Catherine Camiré who launched the campaign: “Mélanie, Dominic and their son, Jacob, experienced a terrible event on the night of December 18. A fire ravaged their home. They quickly woke up in the middle of the flames. The fire spread so quickly that nothing remained of it. The house is a total loss. The cars parked in the garage suffered the same fate. The family counts themselves lucky to have escaped alive, as the pets were not so lucky. Being a total loss, the family is left with nothing. They will need to buy everything back; furniture, appliances, dishes, food, clothing, health products and more. The amount collected will be used for rehousing, to buy what they need to live properly and above all to cover the most urgent costs.

“If each person gave a small $5, strength in numbers would make this family’s Christmas a little less ruined. This would bring a little balm to this tragedy,” we can read.

Details for making a donation are explained in the link Geducated.
