With the democratization of anti-pollution systems on agricultural machines, the particle filter (FAP) has become a maintenance part. Depending on the intensity of use of this machine, the particle filter may become clogged after 2,000 or 3,000 hours. As regenerations become ineffective, it becomes necessary to change this component, not a new model (between 2,500 and 5,000 euros) or a standard exchange, or to have it cleaned. Less expensive, cleaning is generally carried out by specialized companies, and dismantling and reassembly by a dealer, who is paid in passing.
A service offered at an economical price
With more than five years of experience in cleaning particle filters, Franck Schickele, based in Tarn, decided to create his own particle filter cleaning company. Called Méca-Fap, its structure operates in direct contact with end users. “The goal is to offer a quality service at the lowest possible pricehe explains. The farmer dismantles the FAP himself, sends it to me in a postal package. I undertake to clean it and send it back within 24 hours, so as not to immobilize the machine for more than a week.” However, there remains one operation that the farmer cannot do himself, the reset so that the vehicle’s electronics take into account the fact that the FAP is operational again. This operation must be carried out by dealers or service providers with a suitcase. “But the price of this service remains minimal”reassures Franck Schickele, who is considering equipping himself in the medium term with suitcases that he will send to his end customers so that they can carry out the reset themselves.
As for the price, Méca-Fap announces prices five to ten times cheaper than new replacement.
