According to CNN reports, a judge will preside over an extradition hearing for Luigi Mangione, to decide when he will be extradited to New York to face his indictment.
First, a preliminary hearing on the charges he faces in Pennsylvania is expected to take place.
According to Luigi Mangione’s lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, the accused will not object to his extradition to New York, she told CNN.
New York State requested that Luigi Mangione be returned to Manhattan to face 11 charges, including first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.
The accused could possibly be prosecuted at the federal level for the shooting of Brian Thompson on December 4, the American media has learned.
Mr. Mangione’s lawyer clarified that they would “contest these accusations”.
If convicted of murdering the UnitedHealthcare CEO, he faces a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
