During the Paris derby between the women’s teams of Paris Football Club (PFC) and Paris Saint-Germain, the performance of ex-Lille player Lou Bogaert warmed the hearts of PFC supporters on this cold evening. The rain was out on December 7, which should not have disorientated Villeneuvoise, although the intensity of the rain did not come close to the northern rain.
The defender started (for the ninth time this season), and when her name was announced by the speaker during the presentation of the teams, Paris FC supporters applauded, proof that it has successfully integrated itself into the squad and the hearts of the fans. Long sleeves and gloves in this ten degree weather, Lou Bogaert proved that she could be a consistent link in the team, delivering a more than adequate performance.
Lou Bogaert, pure talent from the North
The native of Villeneuve-d’Ascq, who arrived at Paris FC in 2022, wore the red jersey of Lille Olympique Sporting Club (LOSC) for five seasons. Trained at US Lesquin and Wasquehal Football, she joined the ranks of Les Dogues in 2017. She played her first match with the professional team in 2021, a year during which she will wear the blue jersey of the French National Team. under 19 years old.
In 2022, she joined the ranks of Paris FC, a club in the capital, by signing a three-year contract. In February 2024, she extended her contract until 2027. Aged 20, she started twice with the French women’s team this year, against Switzerland and Nigeria (where she faced her teammate Chiamaka NNadozie, one of the PFC goalkeepers).
When we asked her what she learned during her years at LOSC, she praised the many footballing qualities that the club gave her: “Lille first gave me experience, a lot of character, maturity. Obviously, when you arrive in a group of adults, you evolve a little more, both mentally and physically, since we did a lot of strength training. In addition, since I was close to home, it was quite easy to move forward, with my loved ones nearby and without having to be uprooted. »
Almost impeccable performance
The left side emerged victorious from the majority of his duels. She repeatedly repelled the ball by clearing her defense cleanly, knew how to make good use of her body to block attempts to dribble and adverse breakthroughs.
She was certainly surprised at the start of the second half by Sakina Karchaoui’s head fake which led to a PSG cross, allowing Marie-Antoinette Katoto to open the scoring, Lou Bogaert did not let this error impact his performance for the rest of the match. His ingenious marking continued throughout the match, allowing him to block opposing attempts.
Lou Bogaert also once again put his versatility into practice, getting involved in certain offensive actions. She offered her teammates interesting passing solutions in the opposing half. Shortly before entering the last quarter of an hour of the half, she shifted her teammate Clara Mateo on the left, whose shot was however too weak to become a goal. A few minutes later, it was the Northerner who directly took her chance on the right. His attempt was unfortunately too cross to worry Mary Earps, the English goalkeeper of Paris SG.
At the end of the meeting, she is very critical of her performance: “I’m a perfectionist, and I think you can always do better, so even if people tell me I had a ‘good match’, for me it was average. » However, she does not hide her satisfaction with the match delivered by the entire team: “Collectively, we are very happy with this match, even if we would have liked victory. Technically and tactically, we tried to move the PSG block, which we were able to do a little since we managed to come back to the score. You definitely have to keep working [en équipe] because we still have things to improve, but we have been making good progress and momentum since the start, and we hope to continue and win against Dijon next week. »
