France Télévisions management explains its choice

After Thomas Sotto left for RTL, Jean-Baptiste Marteau was the big favorite to take over “Télématin”. Against all expectations, the management of France Télévisions preferred Julien Arnaud, Gilles Bouleau’s joker at 8 p.m. on TF1. Delphine Ernotte, head of the public audiovisual group, justified this decision on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The former host of BFMTV and M6 has chosen to join RTL Morning where he will replace Yves Calvi alongside Amandine Bégot from Thursday August 29, 2024.

France Télévisions has kept the suspense going as to which presenter would be chosen to succeed him in Telematin. While he was the big favorite, Jean-Baptiste Marteau was pushed aside by his management. The public audiovisual group finally chose Julien Arnaud, poached from TF1 where he was Gilles Bouleau’s joker at 8 p.m. He will be responsible for accompanying the awakening of France 2 viewers in the company of Flavie Flament from Monday, September 16.
