After sixty years of journalism, Alain Duhamel will retire in June 2025. On Monday, September 2, 2024, on the set of Face à Duhamel, on BFMTV, it was with humor that the uncle of Benjamin Duhamel and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra had indicated: “I had to divorce either with BFM or with my wife”. On Saturday, September 7, 2024, while he was on the set of C l’hebdo, on France 5, he was surprised to discover a video recorded by his wife, France, to whom he said ‘yes’ on July 1, 1967 and with whom he had two children, Arnaud and Valérie. “I didn’t really show it, but I made him understand that I thought that was enough. Because, well, it’s a very good career, but you have to know when to stop. I would never have seen him retire at 65. When in fact, he has written a lot of books, he could very well have said: ‘I’m stopping’. But no, I was convinced that it wouldn’t work. But I didn’t ask him for anything!”, she exclaimed. With humor, France Duhamel added: “He has trouble letting go, that’s for sure! But finally, it has to end! 84 years old, that’s fine!”

Speaking about their love story, Alain Duhamel’s wife spontaneously said: “We were 26 and we got married at 27. In other words, it didn’t take long.
