Shananana! After more than 10 years of absence, the legendary game show Intervilles will make its big comeback on France Télévisions in the summer of 2025. During the public group’s back-to-school conference on Wednesday, September 4, Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, director of programs, announced the good news: “Intervilles is back for four evenings in the summer of 2025, led by Nagui with a whole group of hosts like Bruno Guillon.”
Intervilles, the story of a cult game
Created in 1962 by Guy Lux, who co-presented it with Léon Zitrone and Simone Garnier, Intervilles has become a true monument of French television. Each issue pitted two cities against each other in a series of often crazy physical challenges. “This show is part of the French heritage and knows how to bring the family together in front of the television,” stressed Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez.
After 10 years of existence, the game was first interrupted, before making a first return in 1985 on FR3, then switching to TF1 from 1986 to 1991. Subsequently, Intervilles experienced several sporadic revivals, notably with the participation of Nagui, until its last broadcast in 2013 with Olivier Minne as presenter. “The return of this iconic game had been considered by France Télévisions since 2020, but had been postponed several times”the official said.
