The case that shook Hollywood will finally reach a judicial conclusion in just over a year. The trial of two people involved in the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry has been set for March 4, 2025.

Drug trafficking ring dismantled following Friends actor’s death

On October 28, 2023, Matthew Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home. An autopsy later revealed that the 54-year-old actor had died of a ketamine overdose. His death shed light on a vast drug trafficking ring in the heart of Hollywood.

After several months of investigation, five people have been charged for their alleged involvement in supplying drugs to the star of “Friends“Among them, two key figures of this network will appear in court in March 2025: the doctor Salvador Plasencia and Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed “the queen of ketamine”.

Doctor, Drug Dealer Implicated in Matthew Perry’s Death

Dr. Plasencia is accused of buying ketamine from a colleague, Dr. Mark Chavez, and then selling it to Matthew Perry for a high price. According to prosecutor Martin Estrada, the vials of ketamine, initially worth $12, were sold to the actor for up to $2,000. A damning text message from the doctor, dated September 2023, was revealed by the investigation: “I wonder how much this jerk is going to pay.”

Jasveen Sangha, meanwhile, is suspected of providing Matthew Perry with the fatal dose that led to his death. If prosecutors can prove her direct involvement, she could face life in prison.
