Elton John is recovering, and is slowly recovering away from the spotlight that has lit up his entire life. On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the singer made an unexpected announcement about his state of health on social media. “Over the summer, I had to deal with a serious eye infection that unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye,” the septuagenarian revealed in a statement shared on his Instagram account, which has already been liked by more than 300,000 people and widely shared by his nearly five million subscribers. Without giving further details on the nature of this infection, Sir Elton John nevertheless wanted to reassure his audience. “I am healing,” he wrote, adding however that it is an “extremely slow process” and that “it will take time before the affected eye regains sight.”
In his message, the singer of Rocket Man and I’m Still Standing would like to warmly thank “the excellent team of doctors and nurses, as well as [sa] family, who took such good care of [lui] over the past few weeks”. A year after his hospitalization in Nice following a fall in his villa, Elton John is once again staying away from the media scene to take care of himself. “I have spent the summer quietly recovering at home, and I am pleased with the progress I have made so far in my healing and recovery process,” concluded the 77-year-old artist, before addressing (…)
