The CPNE media library has a facelift

The media library of the Neuchâtel Vocational Training Center (CPNE) on the Jardinière site in La Chaux-de-Fonds is getting a facelift. This new space was inaugurated on Tuesday. This place is available to students and the teaching staff of the CPNE and is the common property of the “Applied Arts – Applied Arts School” and “Technologies and Industry” poles. The media library is also open to the public and member of the network of Neuchâtel and Jura Libraries (RBNJ). In a spirit of valuation of the heritage, the ceiling was repainted in a brown being part of the 63 nuances defined by Le Corbusier. The whole space has been developed by reconditioning the existing furniture so that this transformation is made in compliance with the principles of sustainable development.

A specialized media library

With more than 10,000 documents, the media library collection deals with art history, applied arts, visual and contemporary arts, graphics, design, photography, architecture and fashion. In addition to this collection, the place houses an archive fund in connection with the applied arts, the evolution of techniques in the art and industrial heritage, explains the Chancellery of State of the Canton of Neuchâtel in a press release . /comm-yca
