Since the rise in post-Cavid interest rates, fundraising has become more complicated for Swiss start-ups. And 2024 was no exception. During the past year, young Swiss shoots brought together funding up to 2.36 billion francs according to figures from Swiss Venture Capital Reportpublished this Tuesday by the online information portal Startuptikecer.ch and the Association of SECA Investors, in collaboration with Startup.ch. Or a total amount in decline of 8.5% compared to 2023. If this sum is lower than the summit of 3.96 billion reached in 2022, it remains greater than the figures of 2019.
“What is notable is that for the first time since we started to produce these reports, we are recoiling in the number of funding laps,” said Stefan Kyora, editor -in -chief of startuptick.ch, at a press conference presenting the report. In 2024, the number of fundraisers deducted by study authors was 357 against 397 in 2023, a drop of around 10%. But despite this unprecedented withdrawal, again, the figure remains higher than the level recorded before the pandemic.
