H2 Global Energy takes a decisive step in Morocco

This major project, which provides for an annual production of a million tonnes of green ammonia, aims to position the kingdom among the world’s own energy leaders.
The initiative is based on the exploitation of the exceptional solar and wind potential of Morocco, thus guaranteeing the production of environmentally friendly hydrogen. The latter will be transformed into green ammonia, an innovative solution that should play a key role in various sectors such as agriculture, transport and energy storage. By contributing to the global dynamic of decarbonation, this project is fully part of the national energy transition strategy.
As part of this project, a delegation of H2 Global Energy recently led a series of constructive meetings with several government institutions in Rabat. These exchanges have made it possible to tackle issues relating to the regulatory framework, investment opportunities and collaboration methods with local and international actors.
Waleed Al Hallaj, commercial director of H2 Global Energy, stressed the strategic importance of this initiative for Morocco. He said that the establishment of this factory would represent a major advance in the realization of the country’s ambitions in terms of renewable energies, while generating jobs and stimulating economic growth. According to him, this project will significantly contribute to the energy transition of Morocco and will strengthen the position of the Kingdom on the world energy chessboard.
The completion of preliminary studies marks a decisive step towards the realization of this project. The next phases will focus on closure of funding and detailed engineering, essential elements to ensure the viability of the factory. H2 Global Energy thus reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and innovative energy projects, collaborating closely with its local and international partners to transform the Moroccan energy landscape.
