Vanessa Paradis first guest of honor at the Lumière 2024 festival

The Lyon festival has announced the arrival of Vanessa Paradis for its 15th edition. The actress will meet her audience at the Pathé Bellecour.

From song to the big screen, one of the most popular French personalities was announced by the Lumière festival this Wednesday, September 4. Vanessa Paradis is the first guest of honor of the 2024 edition of the event.

For the 15th anniversary of the festival, the César-winning actress will meet the public at the Pathé Bellecour and look back on her film career. She will also present a selection of three films from her filmography: The Girl on the Bridge by Patrice Leconte, from 1999, The Heartbreaker by Pascal Chaumeil, from 2010, and finally Flora Cafeby Jean-Marc Vallée, from 2011.

Vanessa Paradis also received two awards for her role in this latest film, the 2012 Jutra Award and the Genie Award. She was also nominated for a César in 2000 for her performance as Adèle in The Girl on the Bridge.

“His presence in Lyon will be one of the highlights of this new edition of the Lumière festival!” assures the organization in a press release.

The date of the meeting with the public will be announced later.

The Lumière Prize goes to Isabelle Huppert

Other guests of honor should be announced by the festival for this anniversary edition, which will take place from October 12 to 20.

This year, the festival will award Isabelle Huppert the Lumière Award for her entire career. She is the fourth woman to receive this award since its creation in 2009.

The tribute will take place on October 18 at the amphitheater of the Convention Center. The actress will also give a masterclass at the Théâtre des Célestins. Isabelle Huppert will also present some of her films and offer a major retrospective on her career in cinema.

The rest of the festival’s lineup has not yet been revealed.
