She is still between life and death, this Sunday. We now know a little more about the barbaric rape of a 29-year-old young woman in Cherbourg (Manche), on August 4th.

An 18-year-old man, Oumar N., was indicted for “rape accompanied by torture or acts of barbarism”. Placed in police custody, he first denied the facts before acknowledging them laconically.

According to information from Figaro, the man showed no empathy for the victim. He was remanded in custody on Friday evening.

What happened ?

The man entered the victim’s home to hit and rape her several times, in particular with a 75 centimeter broomstick. The victim did not know him but had already seen him.

HAS her admission to the Pasteur hospital, the young woman is plengthened in an artificial coma and admitted to the operating room. Doctors diagnose him with perforation of the colon, small intestine, peritoneum and diaphragm, pneumothorax, rib fractures and a high risk of septic shock.

He was already known to the police for a previous case of sexual assault on his 4-year-old little sister, still according to Le Figaro. He was confused by his DNA and his cell phone.

Attempts to recover from the far right

While the victim is still between life and death, on X (formerly Twitter), several far-right personalities such as Bruno Attal, Julien Odoul or Damien Rieu were indignant this Sunday at the lack of reaction from the government on this affair.

The minister in charge ofEequality between women and men spoke on the subject this Sunday evening. Faced with this “despicable, disgusting” rape, Bérangère Couillard said she hoped “wholeheartedly, to quickly have reassuring news about her state of health”. The Minister also indicates “to observe dinappropriate political recoveries”.

HAS left, Green MP Sandrine Rousseau expressed her “solidarity” and her “support” for the victim.

The first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure tweeted to him: “a criminal must be condemned for his crimes whether they are called Oumar, Francis, Michel, Emile, Guy or Patrice. Barbarism, perversion, vice have neither skin color nor nationality. To use a heinous act to imply that immigrants are rapists is racist. »
