The great financier of the MSC empire, Alexa Aponte-Vago, and her husband, Pierfrancesco Vago, general manager of MSC Cruises, have just acquired a pretty residence in the town of Cologny in Geneva. Its price: 35 million francs. The former owner was none other than the co-founder of the trader Trafigura, the late Claude Dauphin. This transaction was led by Rockwell Properties, a Lausanne-based real estate company specializing in high-end brokerage which will soon open an office in Geneva.
This sale, published at the end of July in the Land Registry, surprised observers of the Geneva real estate market at first sight. In 2021, the couple acquired a waterfront plot in the canton of Geneva from the heir of Mansour Ojjeh, a historic shareholder of McLaren.
For two years, two local architectural firms took turns drawing up the plans for the future home of Collonge-Bellerive. In vain. The family then turned to the international market. In the end, it was the Berliners Sascha Mayer and Tom Van Puyvelde, from the architecture and design firm MVP, who were able to convince the couple with their refined architecture. The plans have recently been submitted in view of a building permit.
