A man from New Brunswick has been arrested and will appear in Quebec for death threats against singer Lana Del Rey. The American artist will headline the Festival d’Été de Québec on the Plains of Abraham on Saturday evening.

Denys Mallet, 40, was arrested by the authorities and is due to appear at the courthouse during the day on Friday.
According to the arrest warrant issued against the man, the latter is accused of having “knowingly uttered threats to cause death or bodily harm” to singer Lana Del Rey.

The alleged facts stretch over more than a year, from January 1, 2022 to July 6.
Presence in Quebec
The accused is currently being held at Victoria Central and will appear during the day to face the death threat charge.
The case is troubling given the simultaneous presence in Quebec of Mallet, who resides in Dieppe, New Brunswick, and the popular American artist. The 38-year-old singer is scheduled to perform Saturday night on the plains as part of the Festival d’été de Québec.
