Popular singer and rapper The Kid Laroi didn’t make many friends during his recent performance at a music festival in Calgary on Sunday.

While he was on stage during a concert on the sidelines of the Calgary Stampede, The Kid Laroi confessed to viewers that his favorite city in Canada…was Montreal.
“This is my first visit to Calgary! I have visited many other cities in Canada. I think the best city I visited was Montreal,” he says, as the Australian instantly drew the wrath of the crowd.
The boos continued for eight seconds, before he corrected his remarks in front of the crowd of Albertans.
“The reason it was my favorite […] it’s that everyone in the crowd was jumping,” he concludes in the 35-second clip posted on TikTok by user @adam.kinsman.
In the comments section, the reactions of Internet users have multiplied.
“Well…why are you saying that in Calgary,” one user said.
“All the spectators who boo have definitely never been to Montreal,” said a man.
The artist behind the hits Thousand Miles And WITHOUT YOU has performed in Montreal at the MTELUS and at the Metro Metro Festival in recent months.
