On May 24, the Insurance Bureau of Canada confirmed the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.
It is Saad MeredCEO of Zürich Canadaand of London BradleyPresident and Chief Operating Officer of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada.
The first was hired by Zurich in 2008, when he already had more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Mr. Mered has been in his current role with Zurich Canada since October 2018. He was previously head of the claims group at the head office in Switzerland.
For his part, Mr. Bradley joined Allstate Corporation in 1998. He has chaired the Canadian division since May 2022.
In the press release announcing their appointment, the two new members of the Board underlined the now very complex nature of the environment within which the industry evolves and the rapidity of the changes affecting insurers.
The President of the Bureau’s Board of Directors, Heather Mastersonpoints out that “their long-standing experience in the industry enriches our efforts to contribute to the definition of the public environment that serves to protect Canadians from the risks that threaten them”.
Ms. Masterson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers Canada. The Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Bureau is Christian FournierExecutive Vice-President, Damage Insurance of Beneva.
Besides the CEO Celyeste Powerthe other members of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Bureau of Canada are: Kathy Boychuk (Peace Hills General Insurance Company), Louis Gagnon (Intact), Paul Johnstone (Chubb), Claus-Ulrich Kroll (Munich Re Canada), Valerie Lavoie (Desjardins General Insurance Group), Monica Ningen (Swiss Re Canada), james russell (TD Insurance), Rowan Saunders (definition) And Sylvy Wright (Northbridge).
