Pope Francis said 2025 jubilee year. The diocese of Langres organizes several events to mark this special year.
Several events will mark 2025 for the church in Haute-Marne during this “Holy Year”. The first will take place on 1is February with a round table on the place of women in the rural and agricultural world in the Darmannes village hall. “The place of women in the church is important but unknown. Women are invested in many missions”advance the bishop of Langres, Joseph de Metz-Noblat. As proof, the diocese of Langres employs 17 people including only three men. “They have responsibilities and are listened to”underlines Hélène Cotteverte the manager of the communication of the diocese. As for the priesthood of women, the question is not on the agenda, “The priest is the image of Christ. There is complementarity on both genres”continues the young woman. The diocese ensures it, it welcomes 80 % women in these ceremonies. It will be a question during this round table to show their role and to make visible what is often invisible.

Another highlight, this time in Joinville, with March 15 and 16 a feast around Saint Joseph for the 3e year. Brought back from the Holy Land by Jean de Joinville during the VIIe Crusade, the belt of Saint Joseph remains the only relic of the nourishing Father of Jesus preserved in France. The relic is currently preserved at the Museum of Saint-Dizier because of the restoration of the altar-reliquary which houses it in Joinville.
