An almost forgotten legal case in Senegal is today causing heated controversy on social networks. Amadou Mbaye, known by the nickname Eumeu, aged 21 and imprisoned since 2023, was accused of raping his two cousins ​​by his maternal aunt. However, a video recently published by a protagonist in the case calls these accusations into question.

In this widely distributed video, a young woman presenting herself as the daughter of the accusing aunt speaks. “Eumeu never raped us,” she says firmly, claiming that her mother orchestrated the whole affair. According to his testimony, the rape accusations were fabricated by his mother and a friend of hers.

She explains that it all started when Eumeu obtained a visa to travel abroad. Faced with the failure of this project, her mother allegedly convinced a friend to press charges of rape involving her daughters. “My sister and I have never been victims of what he is accused of. He never raised a hand on us or tried anything.”she assures.

The young woman, accompanied by her sister, claims to have decided to testify publicly to reestablish the truth. She requests a review of the case in order to exonerate Eumeu, who according to her should never have been imprisoned. “Prison is not his place. He must be released because he is innocent. We demand an apology for these unjust accusations”she insists.
