A series of various events carried out by the city of Montpellier will celebrate the work and heritage of the poet Occitan Max Rouquette all year round. A series of meetings is planned through Hérault. First date on Saturday 25 January.
The year 2025 marks the twenty years of the disappearance of the poet Occitan Max Rouquette (1908-2005). To celebrate his work and his memory, around twenty actors in the territory join forces to propose both literary and artistic, entertaining and scientific, and even sporting!
Shows, readings, visits, tambourine game, round tables, conferences, botanical ride … poetry lovers will be able to discover the poems of this writer emblematic of a very lively culture, in love with Montpellier and the Garrigue. In Occitan… and in French!
