The prefect of Marne Henri Prévost and the president of the board of directors of the departmental fire and rescue service of Marne Philippe Salmon express their “immense sadness” due to the death of Sergeant Clément Vilnet.
This non-commissioned officer, assigned to the Reims Marchandeau mixed fire and rescue center, suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest on Monday, January 20, during the guard's sports session. Quickly treated, he was transferred in serious condition to the Reims university hospital center.
After several days of treatment, he unfortunately died this Thursday, January 23.
Aged 35, Sergeant Clément Vilnet was the father of two children aged 6 and 2.
He had been active at SDIS de la Marne for more than 13 years.
-Hired as a volunteer firefighter in June 2011, at the Dormans fire and rescue center then at the Cumières center.
After his success in the professional firefighter competition, he joined the Reims Witry center, then that of Epernay before taking up his position at the Reims Marchandeau center in October 2022.
