After Donald Trump’s victory, CNN and MSNBC in turmoil

CNN waited until Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony had passed to implement a huge restructuring against a backdrop of audience loss. The channel, which employs 3,500 people worldwide, will shed hundreds of employees and shift more and more towards digital, CNBC revealed on Wednesday January 22. The announcement was due to be made on Thursday January 23. The restructuring is accompanied by a takeover of editorial control for a channel that was previously a champion of breaking newspro-democrat and who failed to respond to the rebirth of Trumpism.
