Men’s Fashion Week: Day 2
It’s 9 p.m. when THE Saxophone and piano notes from musician Caleb Arredondo kick off the parade. Scenographed in disused and listed building rue du Faubourg Poissonnière in Paris, 52 poetic silhouettes, feminine and masculine, followed one another, in a peaceful, almost moving atmosphere.
In the front row, AMI’s friends: Catherine Deneuve, Whoopi Goldberg, Lou Doillon, Léna Mahfouf, Omar and Hélène Sy, and even Leïla Bekhti, made the trip to support Alexandre Mattiussi’s label, despite the cold and the pouring rain. On the catwalk, a majority of “new faces” but also very big names like Jeanne Cadieu, Lara Stone, Angelina Kendall, and Liya Kebede.

-Healthy and reassuring rooms
AMI offered a light, serene collection, with distinguished fabrics enhanced by a healthy and reassuring color palette. Herringbones, stripes and checks punctuated the textured pieces of curly wool, satin, flannel or poplin. The unmissable XXL coats and trench coats, signatures of the house, were there. Suits and pants were given ample and resolutely Parisian proportions. On the leather goods side, Alexandre unveiled the latest of his bags: the “Mimi”, with generous and functional curves. Next winter, AMI wrists will be adorned with large gold bracelets of ethnic or medieval inspiration, in accumulation. At our feet, knitted mesh boots, pumps with colorful or Dalmatian print heels.
