Dsports TV aims to make a lasting mark on the sports media landscape of Senegal

The television channel specializing in sport, Dsports TV, currently in the test phase on the Terrestrial Digital Television (TNT) network, expresses its desire to establish itself permanently in the Senegalese media landscape. Its Chairman and CEO, Bakary Cissé, also a sports journalist, shared these ambitions during an interview with the APS.

Bakary Cissé declared to the APS: “However, it remains a challenge for us and above all an exciting adventure and we hope to establish ourselves sustainably and continue to grow. I remain convinced that if we continue to offer rich and pleasant content, we will succeed in retaining the public and attracting partners. » These comments reflect a strategy focused on producing quality content to attract both the public and potential partners.

After a year of broadcasting content on the dsports.sn platform and the Dsports TV YouTube channel, the new channel will officially take off this Friday. Cissé underlines the importance of sport in the lives of the Senegalese and the vitality of the local sports press, making the existence of a television media specialized in this area necessary.

Comparing the evolution of Dsports TV to that of a sports club moving from Ligue 2 to the elite, Bakary Cissé told APS that: “We consider that we were in Ligue 2 with only the YouTube channel. We worked to be promoted to Ligue 1. Which happened since we are in the test phase on the TNT channel. We must ensure our continuation in Ligue 1 and aim for the Champions League. »

As for its future, Dsports TV is aiming for wider distribution, in particular by joining the CANAL+ bouquet. Bakary Cissé specified that the channel will offer a variety of programs aimed at a diverse audience, including the diaspora. Programs like “Le Duel des Benjamins” and “Classe D’Sports” are already broadcast on their YouTube channel and others are in preparation.

Finally, emphasizing limitless ambition, Bakary Cissé affirmed, still in the columns of the APS, that Dsports TV plans progressive growth but without development constraints, keeping in mind that each step counts to achieve their objectives.
