As part of its strategy aimed at reducing the deficit in teaching staff, the Government of Senegal announced an exceptional recruitment of 2,000 teachers for the 2024/2025 school year. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the national education system.
Eligibility conditions and application procedures
To be eligible for special teacher recruitment for the 2024/2025 school year, candidates must meet certain conditions. They must be of Senegalese nationality and aged between 18 and 35 years at most, as of December 31, 2025.
In terms of qualifications, applicants at the Preschool and Elementary levels must hold a bachelor’s degree or a professional teaching diploma. Those who wish to teach at the Middle and Secondary levels must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional teaching diploma. Furthermore, candidates must be ready to be posted anywhere on the national territory.
Creation of the file
To compile their file, candidates must gather a series of essential documents. They must first write a written request addressed to the Minister of National Education. This request must be accompanied by a legalized copy of the required academic diploma as well as a legalized copy of the professional diploma or, where applicable, an admission order.
-Candidates with professional experience in the field of teaching must provide a certificate of practice signed by the Academy Inspector (IA) or the Education and Training Inspectorate (IEF).
A medical certificate of aptitude for teaching, issued by a doctor working in a public health structure, is also required to guarantee that the applicant is fit to carry out the function.
Finally, a legalized copy of the national identity card, a copy of the certificate of nationality and a certificate of good conduct and morals is required. These documents make it possible to verify the identity, nationality and integrity of the candidate.
