Two men aged in their forties were arrested for stealing an ATM from a gas station during the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Saint-Hippolyte, in the Laurentians.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was alerted around 1:30 a.m. by calls to 911 about a break-in into the convenience store of a gas station on Chemin des Hauteurs.
The two suspects managed to take their loot before fleeing in their vehicle in an unknown direction, said an SQ spokesperson.
But very quickly, the SUV was located by SQ police officers on the same Chemin des Hauteurs, near Chemin du 2e Rang in the municipality of Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides.
-A third suspect, whose age has not been revealed, managed to flee before the vehicle was intercepted by SQ agents, it was specified.
The two arrested forty-year-olds will appear in court on Thursday to face charges of break and enter, theft of more than $5,000, fleeing and dangerous driving.
