A meeting was recently held on the site of the two houses seriously damaged by a strong explosion on November 13 on Chemin du Gourg de la Rose in Garrigues Ste Eulalie. The damage was so severe that it forced a family to move. But the origin of the problem still remains to be clarified… Among other hypotheses, the consequences of the passage of a supersonic plane have been mentioned.
André and Marie-Josée Brunet, tenants of one of the two houses, who take an active part in the resolution of this singular affair were present as well as the Gan insurance experts; Patrice Volante, building engineer and legal expert, Anne Levoyer, first municipal deputy of Garrigues, Mourad Boulhal, head of the company which secured the two houses, and Captain Eric Sauzede, structural maintenance engineer at the Ministry of the Armies.
At the end of the meeting – not open to the press – it appears from Captain Sauzede's speech, “learned of this matter only a few days ago” that an investigation should take place in the coming days or weeks in order to understand the cause of such damage. However, he finds “strange that the windows remained intact during the incident.”
-Still at an impasse, the two families of tenants and their landlord are hoping for a stiff resolution to this enigmatic and very painful matter for them.
