Che program, which extends until 2026, has an overall budget of 188 million dirhams, allowing the implementation of tourism development projects in the 16 selected villages. Each village will benefit from support for the improvement of existing infrastructures and the creation of new adapted tourist infrastructures, whether in terms of new accommodation, or even cultural and leisure infrastructures. SMIT will supervise the implementation of projects to ensure their compliance with the objectives and principles of sustainable tourism.
In order to guarantee the success of this program, 4 strategic partnerships have been initiated with key national and international players to provide their expertise. These are: Club Med, Marriott, Experiencia and MADAEF.
The 16 villages will be divided into four geographical lots, reflecting the diversity of Moroccan landscapes:
Premier lot :
- Dar El Hamra (Fez-Meknes) : A village with rustic charm, known for its traditional houses and agricultural landscapes. Visitors can discover the local crafts and ancestral traditions of the region.
- Ain Leuh (Fez-Meknes) : Nestled in the heart of a cedar forest, not far from Azrou and Ifrane, this village is an ideal starting point for nature hikes and outdoor activities. It is also famous for its cultural festivals.
- Zaouiat Oued Ifrane (Fez-Meknes) : A peaceful place surrounded by mountains, famous for its waterfalls and trekking trails that appeal to lovers of nature and tranquility.
- Ain Tizgha (Casablanca-Settat) : this village is known for its picturesque landscapes and traditional agricultural practices. Visitors discover rich and authentic local cuisine.
Second batch:
- Imi Ouaddar (Souss-Massa) : A small coastal village offering magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters. Perfect for surfing and relaxation enthusiasts.
- Imessouane (Souss-Massa) : A popular destination for surfers, with an authentic atmosphere and spectacular seascapes. The local gastronomy, especially seafood, is unmissable.
- Ksar Ait Benhaddou (Drâa-Tafilalet) : Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, this ksar is a jewel of adobe architecture and an emblematic place for Moroccan cinema and culture.
- Ksar Tizgui (Drâa-Tafilalet) : A charming fortified village offering breathtaking views of the surrounding oasis. Ideal for exploring local history and traditions.
Third batch:
- Imlil (Marrakech-Safi) : Starting point for hikes to Mount Toubkal, this mountain village is renowned for its hospitality and spectacular landscapes.
- Oukaimeden (Marrakech-Safi) : Morocco’s main ski resort, located in the Atlas Mountains. A perfect place for winter sports and nature lovers.
- Ouzoud (Béni Mellal-Khénifra) : Renowned for its impressive waterfalls, this village offers a unique experience combining nature and discovery of Berber culture.
- Zaouit Ahensal (Béni Mellal-Khénifra) : A remote mountainous village, appreciated for its majestic landscapes and exceptional trekking routes.
Fourth batch:
-- Icherriten (Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma) : Located in the heart of the Rif mountains, this village offers panoramic views and an authentic atmosphere, ideal for recharging your batteries.
- Jajouka (Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima) : Known for its ancestral musical tradition, this village is a unique destination for lovers of culture and heritage.
- Tafoughalt (Oriental) : Nestled in the mountains of Beni Snassen, this village is renowned for its preserved nature and its historic caves. Perfect for geology and hiking enthusiasts.
- Oulmès (Rabat-Salé-Kénitra) : Proud of its thermal springs, this village is a popular wellness destination, also offering insights into local crafts and traditions.
To increase the attractiveness of these villages, a targeted marketing strategy will be implemented via partnerships with tourist operators. These collaborations will transform these villages into authentic and differentiated destinations, capable of meeting the expectations of tourists looking for immersive and exclusive experiences.
It is important to note that this ambitious program is part of a broader dynamic of diversification of the tourist offer in rural areas, through:

· The development of sales platforms for local crafts and local products.
