This Thursday, January 23, the specialized interregional jurisdiction (Jirs) of Marseille took charge of the investigation into the assassination of Dominique Colombani. Information confirmed by the Bastia public prosecutor, Jean-Philippe Navarre. The man, aged 26, was shot dead on January 20 in front of his home located on rue Case Nove, in Calenzana (Haute-Corse).
Initially, an investigation into intentional homicide by an organized gang was opened by the Bastia public prosecutor's office, and entrusted to the Corsica research section – the gendarmerie investigation unit – and to the interdepartmental direction of the national police of Upper Corsica.
Second homicide of the year
The homicide of Dominique Colombani is the second of the year 2025. On January 10, Camille Orsoni, a professional firefighter, was targeted while he was driving his car on the RD 82, on the plain from Oletta. An investigation was opened for murder by an organized gang.
-There too, it had been opened by the Bastia public prosecutor's office, on charges of intentional homicide by an organized gang, criminal association, theft with a weapon by an organized gang and destruction by dangerous means by an organized gang. The Jirs de Marseille subsequently also took up the matter, on January 13.
