A 10-year-old girl dies after a skiing accident in Villard-de-Lans

On Tuesday, a 10-year-old girl lost her life in a skiing accident in the resort of Villard-de-Lans in Isère, during a school trip organized by her establishment. Evolving with a “3rd star” level group on a blue connecting slope, the young skier left her trajectory for reasons still undetermined and hit a rock wall bordering the slope.

In cardiorespiratory arrest upon the arrival of rescuers from the high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM) of Isère and a doctor from Samu 38, the little girl was able to be resuscitated, reported Le Dauphiné Libéré.

Investigation into manslaughter

“Despite her helmet, she suffered head trauma and died in the evening (Wednesday) at 8:30 p.m.,” said prosecutor Eric Vaillant in a press release published Wednesday evening.
