In Vendée, the Kverneland group modernizes its factory – FARM Connexion

Motivated by its desire to strengthen its position in solutions for mechanical dethatching and weeding, Kverneland Group announces a major investment for its Landes Gernusson plant in Vendée.

At the beginning of December 2024, the group first acquired an additional land of 1.76 hectares, bringing the total area of the factory to 5.5 hectares. The built surface area will increase from 1.32 hectares to 2 hectares (+51%), allowing the creation of new production spaces for welding, painting, assembly and the development of prototypes in R&D. Two solar power plants will be installed on the roof of the building and on the parking structure, totaling 770 kWp, demonstrating the group's strong commitment to environmental responsibility. With this in mind, employees will benefit from parking lots equipped with solar panels.

The R&D prototype workshop will be expanded, from 645 m² to 1,000 m² (+ 55%), to stimulate innovation supported by new R&D offices and thus support rapidly growing global demand. Kverneland believes it can double its production capacity of its tools (Kverneland and Kubota), introduce larger machines such as the Kverneland Qualidisc 21000 T disc harrow and meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions in mechanical weeding, although this market today is not at the wedding.

The modernization of equipment involves investments in welding and painting robots as well as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) which will optimize production processes. Shipping capacity will double thanks to container management and a reorganization of logistics offices. The establishment of a one-way traffic system for trucks will improve the efficiency of operations and avoid the circulation of heavy goods vehicles inside the factory and the Kverneland Group Les Landes-Genusson site.

This expansion, the amount of which is not communicated, should be completed by mid-2026, assures Kverneland Group.
