The Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin traveled Monday and Tuesday to the United Arab Emirates, notably to Dubai, to give the authorities a list of 27 individuals suspected of being drug traffickers to be extradited to , according to information from franceinfo confirming the revelations of FigaroWednesday January 22.

The Minister of Justice, third person in state, made the fight against drug trafficking a priority as soon as he took office as Minister of Justice. This trip to Dubai is part of its desire to obtain rapid results.

In the case of drug trafficking, the Minister of Justice welcomed on Wednesday the extradition from Morocco of Félix Bingui, 34 years old. Suspected of being the leader of the “Yoda” clan, one of the drug trafficking networks behind a bloody gang war in , he arrived Wednesday afternoon.

Félix Bingui, nicknamed “The Cat”, was arrested in Morocco in March 2024, following an arrest warrant issued against him by a Marseille investigating judge. He is accused of “importing narcotics in an organized gang”, “transport, detention, acquisition, transfer of narcotics”, “criminal association with a view to committing a crime” and “laundering and failure to justify resources”.
