What does the work at Cappy involve?

This work on four engineering structures allowing crossing of the Somme valley in the Cappy crossing aims to secure users and maintain the good condition of the departmental heritage. As a reminder, they started this summer until November 15. They have resumed since January 6. “In connection with a safety study carried out by the municipality of Cappy, improvements were made to the 4 structures. And to add: “The counter-ditch structure, made up of a brick masonry vault and a metal culvert, presents pathologies due to the aging of the materials and water infiltration. In order to guarantee its internal and external waterproofing, the work will consist of the installation of a waterproofing geomembrane; the restoration of the masonry and the securing of the surrounding areas with new guardrails.

A diversion in place during the work

Traffic will be cut until March 14 with the establishment of a diversion via the RD 329, RD 1029 and RD 164 via Bray-sur-Somme, Proyart, Foucaucourt-en-Santerre, Estrées-Deniécourt and Faÿ. “The Véloroute Vallée de Somme, also closed to pedestrian and cyclist traffic, will be diverted between Eclusier-Vaux and Cappy during this same period.
