The restrictive measures, taken due to the episode of air pollution underway since Friday in the Lyon metropolitan area, are being renewed this Wednesday, January 22.
“Despite a slight improvement in weather conditions in the Rhône department and the Lyon metropolis“, the air quality in the Lyon basin remains degraded. The Rhône prefecture has therefore decided to renew the orange alert for this Wednesday, January 22.
Restrictive measures to reduce pollutant emissions are also maintained. Among them: differentiated traffic and the reduction of speed to 70 km/h on all roads in the department. Concerning the ZFE, the “small riders” exemption issued by the Métropole de Lyon is temporarily suspended.
According to Atmo, “a general improvement is expected in the region with a change in weather regime” starting this Wednesday.
