Laurent Cotret: “We are calm because we have the feeling that we are providing the right solution. We think we will get there”

On France 3 Nouvelle Aquitaine / ICI Bordeaux, the lawyer for the Girondins de Bordeaux, Laurent Cotretexplained why the meeting at the Commercial Court had lasted so long: 1 hour 15 minutes.

“We are calm because we have the feeling that we are providing the right solution, the right solution versus a judicial liquidation, that is to say another big demotion, the non-payment of creditors… In short, the plan recovery is clearly, and this is what emerges from this hearing, the best solution […] We are satisfied, yes. It took a long time, we had a lot of questions, but we expected that. It’s normal, everyone has to express themselves, the creditors’ representative, the municipality… it was long, but very interesting”

Then, he spoke on the renegotiation of the debt for the Club, which will move forward in the coming weeks.

“We have several options on the table. Already, we will try to reduce the debt by contesting the liabilities. Afterwards, we plan to rework it by negotiating with the creditors. We have already worked quite a bit and we have planned a lot of meetings in the next two, three, four weeks. We think we'll get there. In any case, we start calm, confident and convinced that this rescue plan is the best solution. […] Saving this club is a daily challenge with a lot of work to do in the next six months.”
