It was perhaps not the best idea of the year for this experienced thief… Resident in the Gardhe was guilty of several bicycle thefts in recent months.
How did he make money afterwards? By posting classified ads on a famous online sales site. These were posted “between June 2024 and January 2025”, specifies the Gard Gendarmerie.
A victim reported to the Grau-du-Roi brigade to report a nouveau vol. The investigation carried out by the military made it possible to make the link with all these classified ads.
Two bikes still in the wild
Quickly identified by law enforcement, the perpetrator of these thefts was arrested before being placed in police custody. “He admitted to having stolen 5 bicycles,” explained the soldiers. To date, 3 bikes have been returned to their rightful owners. »
-Two bicycles remain in the wild… The first was allegedly stolen in May 2024 and the second at the beginning of 2025, in Grau-du-Roi.
“Victims can contact the local brigade, presenting any supporting documents, photos or information that could justify being the legitimate purchaser,” concludes the Gard gendarmerie.
