Gaëtan Malange candidate for his own succession

The wishes of the mayor and the Municipal Council to the population took place on Saturday January 18 at the village hall in the presence of the Marmande/Nérac sub-prefect Michel Gouriou, the mayor of Tonneins Dante Rinaudo, the mayor of Miramont Jean-Noël Vacqué, representatives of the gendarmerie and firefighters, mayors of neighboring towns and many residents. During the evening, Gaëtan Malange indicated that he would be a candidate for his own succession for the 2026 municipal elections.

Then, the mayor detailed the achievements of the year 2024, including the connected media library open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, the lockers for the sale of fresh products, the playground, the sports and leisure with the City Stadium and its almost unique equipment in the department.

The mayor also mentioned the construction of three municipal housing units in the town center, the creation of six housing units with Habytalis in the heart of the village, the repair of municipal roads, roads and sidewalks, the two courtyards of the nursery and primary schools, the total change of the canteen equipment and the study of the restructuring of the town center (town hall, market hall, rue de l'Église) with permeable soils which make it possible to have more subsidies.

Road studies were also carried out for rue de l'École and route de Miramont. The project for a new sports hall, the current one being too old and too expensive to repair, is completed. The new room will be built behind the village hall depending on aid, which will allow continuity between the media library, the village hall, the games area and the City Stadium.

Telemedicine soon to be inaugurated

A 5-euro meal service has been set up for seniors, and telemedicine will soon be launched. Other smaller projects will also see the light of day, such as the creation of an educational apiary of four hives with explanation of all the work of bees.

In the fall, a meeting is planned with all parents whose children attend school in the town to plant a tree. The first part of the pedestrianization of the roundabout, the development of a new municipal workshop and the transformation of the old sports hall into a bowling alley will also be carried out. The town has bought the newsagent, which should reopen in May/June.
