More than 70% of regional development program projects contracted

According to the mid-term report presented Monday during the extraordinary session of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council, chaired by the President of the Council, Omar Moro, in the presence of the Wali of the region, Younes Tazi, the Council succeeded , as part of its ongoing efforts for the implementation of the 2022-2027 Regional Development Program, to contract more than 160 projects out of a total of 233 planned, i.e. 70% progress in the contracting of projects scheduled for this period.

Since the start of the current mandate of the Council until the July 2024 session, these projects have been validated through 323 conventions, including framework conventions and specific conventions, specified the same source, noting that the budget of validated projects amount to approximately 17.42 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), or more than 88% of the overall program budget (19.65 billion dirhams).

Regarding the financial contribution of the Regional Council in these agreements, the total commitments exceed 6.26 billion dirhams, representing approximately 92% of the financial contribution planned within the framework of the 2022-2027 Regional Development Program, estimated at 6.77 billion dirhams. In terms of financial achievement, the region has already disbursed more than 2.65 billion dirhams within the framework of the agreements signed to date, thus representing 42% of the financial commitments made and 29% of the overall technical progress of the projects, said the Council, noting that this demonstrates the desire to realize the planned projects and to advance the work within the set deadlines.

These data highlight the significant progress made in the implementation of projects included in the regional development program and reflect the notable success of the Regional Council in the effective mobilization of financing, whether its own or partnership, to realize these initiatives, added the same source, recalling that the ultimate objective remains to promote sustainable and inclusive development covering all provinces in the region.
