The finances of the City of Besné (Loire-Atlantique) are good, but in a constrained budgetary context and the launch of two significant projects (the thermal renovation of the school and the children's home and the redevelopment of the Chemin du Stadium), the municipality has decided to adjust certain projects initially planned in this mandate. Including that of the extension of the George-Sand media library, announced Mayor Sylvie Cauchie during her wishes.

“It’s an ambitious project that we continue to work on” but which will not begin in the coming months.

We plan to retain the architect during this year and the market will be launched in early 2026.

The media library, since the introduction of free access, has seen its attendance jump. “The number of registrants increased by 440% and the number of loans by 43%. These figures support our third-places media library project. »

But the amounts to be committed are substantial, and in view of the municipality's annual investment budget, the municipality had to readjust its choices, “in order to best respect the envelope of 2 million works initially planned”.
