A highly coveted seat, two strong blocs, unprecedented alliances: the Neuchâtel elections on March 23 promise an exciting confrontation to decide the succession of the PLR Alain Ribaux and the majority in the Council of State. Two months before the election, the main protagonists of this pitched battle entered the arena brandishing their campaign programs. As a reminder, the Neuchâtel Alliance presents a ticket made up of the PLR Crystel Graf, Laurent Favre (outgoing) and Quentin Di Meo, as well as the UDC Thierry Brechbühler and the centrist Manon Freitag. The United Left aligns itself behind the socialists Florence Nater and Frédéric Mairy (outgoing), the Greens Céline Vara and Christine Ammann-Tshopp, and the popist Sarah Blum.

First striking element, the way in which the two camps revealed themselves. The right chose the sobriety of a press conference organized on Friday in the PLR headquarters in downtown Neuchâtel, while the left set up a “big party” on Saturday evening bringing together nearly 300 members of the three groups. at the Maison du Peuple, in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Two rooms, two atmospheres, which show that the former adopt a very defensive posture against the latter, who shook the Republic by winning a crushing victory in the executive of the city of Neuchâtel last year.
