A 37-year-old lady named Sadane Sow died in appalling conditions last Thursday in Amaly, a village in the commune of Téssékré, in the department of Linguère. The victim was brutally killed with a machete. His lifeless body was discovered by local residents. According to Vox Populi, the perpetrator of the crime would be the lady’s husband, G. Sow. This 50-year-old man allegedly set a trap for his wife before fatally attacking her, reports the newspaper.

The source details: “The latter would have simulated stomach aches during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Very early on Thursday morning, he asked the victim to transport him in a cart to the Amaly health post. After a kilometer of travel, behind a bush, the husband takes his wife down and begins to hit her with a knife until she loses her life.”

Vox Populi informs that the suspect, after his crime, turned off his phone and took refuge in the village of Méweul, not far from Yang-Yang. The gendarmerie, who opened an investigation, managed to locate her. He was arrested and placed in police custody at the Yang-Yang brigade, the news daily reports.

The remains of Sadane Sow were deposited in the morgue of the Élisabeth Diouf health center in Dahra.
