Grandvilliers: the historic association on all fronts in 2025

The historical association of the canton of Grandvilliers held its general meeting on Saturday January 11. She is planning great projects for 2025.

After the exhibition on the history of the hospital-hospice, which attracted around a hundred people, the members of the historical association of the canton of Grandvilliers took stock of their year 2024.

And more importantly, they shared what the association is planning for this year.

First, on March 30, the 40th collectors' fair will be held. The following week, on April 5, it will be the turn of the 4th book fair.

« The show is currently full. Only a few places are reserved for possible local authors. »

The association also plans outings to the surrounding churches, to the Château de Crèvecœur-le-Grand, and especially to the Notre-Dame de cathedral.

Finally, it could finance panels on heritage to be installed at city entrances.

Photo, tourism and filmed archive projects

The association is also leading a project entitled “One hundred photos to love Grandvilliers”, in partnership with Objectif photo. President Damien Riche has already brought them a selection of 300 photos of the city to examine.

Finally, Daniel Delattre, president of the association, explained that it is working on a partnership with the Picardie Verte tourist office in Gerberoy. “ Grandvilliers could thus be found on circuits in Picardie Verte“, he rejoices.

Films about Grandvilliers

At the end of the general assembly, two films on the history of Grandvilliers were screened.

« The first dating from 1958, a recording from a super 8 reel showed us, in particular, the old Grandvilliers race course, the center of the town at that time, a patronage fair, a patronage outing, a trip to Lourdes, all this by people from Grandvilliers, recognized among the public. The second, much more recent, concerned the presentation of the Grandvilliers medal, by Frédéric Douchet, mayor, to Pierre Mengin, almost a hundred years old, who attended the Liberation of Grandvilliers“, explains Daniel Delattre.

As for the museum, it manages, thanks to generous donors, to be filled with many precious objects relating to the history of the city. Do not hesitate to consult them during the openings of the chapel on certain Saturday afternoons.
