A final year student suffered a heart attack while taking part in a workshop at his school in Givors (Rhône). Despite the intervention of the school nurse, he died.
It was a terrible tragedy which unfolded last Friday January 17, within the walls of the Aragon-Picasso comprehensive high school in Givors (Rhône), not far from Lyon. In the middle of class, a 17-year-old high school student died after suffering a heart attack. The student, enrolled in the final CAP electrician course, was then participating in a workshop, according to our colleagues at Progress. Very quickly, the teaching staff called the establishment nurse, before the firefighters and ambulance arrived.
Despite the intervention of emergency services, the teenager could not be resuscitated. In the words of the establishment's principal, Didier Soler, the young man presented “no particular pathology”, and was particularly “pleasant and appreciated” by his classmates. “Obviously, we are all devastated by this event and we fully associate ourselves with the family’s pain and sorrow,” continues the latter.
-A listening cell has been set up for students, particularly for the victim's classmates. At the start of the week, it is still open. The teenager's parents were also received by the head of the establishment.
