On January 9, the Erstein polder was flooded, in application of the water law and in accordance with the terms of the prefectural decree of September 2, 2011 taken for the restoration of the dynamics of the alluvial plains .

This ecological submergence took place without incident. Since the end of the emptying operations, the site has remained closed to the public for security reasons.
-This morning, the various stakeholders involved (French waterways, Regional Directorate of the Environment, Planning and Housing, Departmental Directorate of Territories, commune of Erstein, National Gendarmerie, conservatory of Alsatian sites, Electricity of France and prefecture) carried out an inventory with a view to reopening the site.
The conditions being met, the reopening of the site to the public will take place from Tuesday January 21, 2025 at 9 a.m.
