Morocco and the Central African Republic strengthen their military cooperation | APAnews

Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, met Monday in Rabat with Army General Zéphirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the armies of the Central African Republic.

Since 2014, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have participated in maintaining peace in the Central African Republic, within MINUSCA, with a contingent of 750 soldiers.

Army General Zéphirin Mamadou, visiting Morocco from January 17 to 23, is accompanied by a large military delegation.

According to a press release from the FAR General Staff, relayed by the Moroccan press agency, the two officials discussed the various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, notably relating to training and the exchange of visits.

They also welcomed the solidity of the cooperation links between the Royal Armed Forces and the Central African Armed Forces, indicates a press release from the FAR General Staff.

On this occasion, the Chief of Staff of the Central African Armies expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for the support provided to the Central African Armed Forces and praised the action of the Moroccan Contingent within the framework of the stabilization mission and its decisive role within MINUSCA.

The same day, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi received at the headquarters of this administration Army General Zéphirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the armies of the Central African Republic.

During these exchanges, the two officials expressed their satisfaction with the dynamics of the relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and the Central African Republic and examined the prospects of expanding them to other areas of common interest.

Morocco and the Central African Republic have signed several conventions covering various areas with a view to developing fruitful collaboration in the direction of mutual aspirations and common interests.
