In connection with a very fast jet stream this week over the Atlanticcaused by the American cold snap, deep depressions will deepen between Iceland and the British Isles. The UK could experience a storm on Friday. France, further away, should only suffer a usual gale for the season.
A gale on Friday, followed by a still disrupted weekend
While at this same time of year, the storm Klaus ravaged the south-west of our country in 2009, the weather situation will get agitated at the end of the week with the strengthening of the winds. The situation will not be comparable to that of Klaus, and to date, no storm is expected in France. However, a gale seems quite likely for Friday as a deep depression passes over the British Isles.

This gale would be quite classic for this time of year. The strength of the winds will depend on how far the deep British depression, forecast over Scotland with a remarkably low pressure near 950 hPa, circulates. This should cause a storm in these Nordic countries.
-France will be more affected in its north-western quarter, with winds blowing from the south-west, accompanied by good pouring rain. To date, estimated gusts are between 80 and 100 km/h, particularly along the coast from Brittany to Hauts-de-France.
Then, the low pressure flow will continue during the weekend until the beginning of next week. In this context, new depressions should follow the same path with still a threat of gales in the northwest, a priori Monday and next Tuesday. As this deadline is still far away, we will clarify this development in the coming days.
