The MCG, usually, has presented since its entry to the municipal, two candidates, in 2011, in 2015 and in 2020, so initially, and the first round, as they say in the jargon, the first round c It’s a warm-up round, so we can be complementary and let’s not forget that there is a list of the municipal council behind us. So a warm-up round, but you are not a mind that gets heated, you were notably president of the municipal council where many people praised your calm, an MCG elected official who is calm, you detonate Amar Madani? Amar Madani. Precisely, this is the new thing that a calm MCG elected official who comes with dialogue, with humility and with respect, we will work to find majorities, ten years on the municipal council, we have submitted texts, we have tried to find majorities and therefore, as a result, it is a logical continuation of this journey. So one thing that does not change for an MCG elected official, however, is security, it is one of your priorities, security in the city of Geneva, we are particularly thinking about security around schools, there is this whole matter in quotes around the street deal in Paquis, what are your solutions to resolve the situation on the spot? Amar Madani. Today unfortunately the observation is bitter, at the school level, you have the Descharmies schools, you have the Paquis school, you have the Gesendorf school nearby and at the school exit, you have a gathering of communities who have camps, you have deal traffic, it is true that the municipality has a limited tool in this area, but that being said. Beatrice. The municipal police? Amar Madani. There is the municipal police, the municipal police today have limited broadcasts. We will put an end to the municipal police, but discussions between the municipalities and the canton so that we can find synergies to be able to clarify the issuance of municipal police and thus, remove any ambiguity towards citizens. Beatrice. Do you agree that this is not the responsibility of an administrative councilor of the city of Geneva? Amar Madani. This is not actually the responsibility of an administrative advisor, but that being said, the canton is currently discussing it. Well, the discussion today is at a standstill because the elections are approaching, but the project is underway. Beatrice. Employment, we know that the slogan of the MCG is “Priority to residents”, this would also be the case for jobs in the city, we think of what happened to Frédéric Perler. How do you make sure you only employ local people? Since that is your goal. Amar Madani. Unfortunately, today, the residents of Geneva suffer from an injustice, it is a malaise in terms of employment. The city of Geneva is not an exemplary employer. It is not normal for the city of Geneva to seek employees in Paris. Paris is not a border area. The city of Geneva, you should know that it has 4,500 employees, plus subsidized institutions, plus service providers, a lever that can give priority. Beatrice. We know that sport is the poor relation of politics in Geneva, particularly in relation to culture, with a glaring lack in both rooms. How do you plan to resolve the situation? Today, before tackling the issue of gyms, sport is a vector of social cohesion. Public health. And therefore, sport must be accessible to everyone. The citizens of our city must not remain as spectators, but they must be actors. That’s the first point. The second point, it will now be necessary, indeed, that sport, until proven otherwise, is the poor relation. We will have to make trade-offs and then give more resources to the sports sector so that we can also move forward. And that being said, we do not oppose sport to another domain such as culture.
