Halifax Regional Police are investigating the death of a man early Sunday morning in Dartmouth, N.S.

It says officers responded to reports of shots fired at Dartmouth around 3 a.m. and found two people there with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital, where the man died of his injuries. The woman’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The Nova Scotia medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
