It was a real setback that the “yellows and blues” experienced this Saturday evening against a Montastruc team which was in full force. The two combined absences of Doumbia and Diakhate were unfortunately detrimental for the Lotois who suffered a second defeat in a row and ended this first leg with their first home defeat of the season.
However, the first quarter was well managed by Bruno Prouillac's men. As a good captain, Maxime Prouillac fought in the paint and Dronjak, on the wing, was effective (14/11 in the 10th).
But everything will be decided in the second quarter. The Lotois will concede a 5 to 0 from the start. The CSB, as often, is in difficulty offensively and Montastruc sets his pace and is very skillful.
The individual actions continue on the Lot side without success and the CSB seems KO, conceding in ten minutes a 27 to 10 (24/38 in the 20th).
Returning from the locker room, Montastruc increased his lead (31/51 in the 25th minute) and played his game with confidence.
First home defeat of the season
The CSB reacts but each shot is made with difficulty. The trio (Prouillac/Dronjak/Béthune) limits the damage and the two teams neutralize each other (20/20 in this third quarter).
Montastruc, who enters the fourth quarter with an advantage of fourteen points, only has to manage his lead in this last quarter.
The difference in the score will oscillate between fourteen and twenty points and the Lotois will experience their first defeat at home and hope to recover their injured to move forward next Saturday with a still difficult trip to Caraman.
